    • Eh, it was fine. Really. If you've been reading Cooper's other books in the Aeon 14 universe and you want a glimpse of some of the things which went on between Destiny Lost and New Canaan then I'd say read this. They're interesting little stories which kind of fill in some gaps (which honestly don't need to be filled), but other than that it's not really worth it. The writing is fine (I've found that Cooper is pretty consistently a solid writer and this evidences his consistency), but it's a sho [...]

    • Another smashing good read. This is a wonderful anthology in the eon 14 universe. The only gripe I have is please please no vampires, I hope weare past that trope in writing, I think we are all sick of vampire diaries and starlight. The backstory and intrigue with the new characters is very interesting. Give us more. We need more heroes like Chris long knife and Cassondra Kresnov. I read 20 books a month and I have put MD Cooper in my top 10 authors. I suggest for anybody who likes space operas w [...]

    • Not stand-alone but importantAlthough this is not a stand-alone story, I REALLY encourage readers to pick this short book up. It contains backstory, answers to important questions, and new characters in their context. If the author had tried to write all of these things into his larger works it would, in my humble opinion, have either gotten too "boggy" or just extremely confusing. I appreciate M. D. Cooper's decision to use this book to transition and refocus. As with all I have read by this au [...]

    • This is a collection of short stories that fills in the blanks between full-length books in the Tanis Richards series. It takes place between The Intrepid Saga and The Orion Wars in the storyline. The tales felt to me somewhat disjointed, and I had a difficult time relating to the characters. It does help you understand more when you get to the next book-length work in the series.

    • Short but good readThis book is short but appreciated the additional background it gives you before reading the next major book in the series. The writing style, as in the other books, is engaging and really pulls you into the story and characters.

    • Good bridge between books!I enjoyed reading this collection of short stories. They were interesting, and I’m curious to see how they build in New Canaan. I’ll say based on the length of the book, it’s a bit pricey, but still worth it.

    • Not true short storiesThese are bits and pieces that don't fit into a larger novel. Scenes or chains of plot that better explain what was happening in the main novels. Not bad, simply unnecessary.

    • Reads more like a novella than an anthology. I thought it would be inconsequential but there are important plot points here.

    • This was good and gave the overall series more character. I hope Elena is in more of the story as the books go on, she is, uhm, different. That's all the spoiler I will offer, lol

    • Great collection of short stories!Really enjoyed the extras this story gave. Like a behind the scenes of many of the other stories. Different points of view etc.

    • Good filler storyAnother great story from Cooper, that fills in gaps between the main stories. Seemingly disparate storylines start to get pulled together as the Intrepid heads to their new world. Looking forward to the next book!

    • A nice set of stories with lots of filling in events for the Aeon 14 fans, those who are up to date with all of his branches will appreciate this, This can also be read as a handy introduction to other events , but as there is a lot in this then your best to start with one of his other Story Arcs if your planning on a proper read of his works.

    • Great series These stories are nice sound bites setting us up for the new book coming out this spring. I am really looking forward to New Canaan. I do recommend you read the first 4 books, which now comes as a bundle, first.

    • This is marketed as an anthology of short stories but it reads more like a complete book with chapters from different viewpoints. Once again M.D. Cooper hits a bullseye! Loved it!

    • Scfi goodnessIt was a great book, but too short. I can hardly wait till April for the next installment. The suspense just keeps building as to whether the colonists will get their new world. This is a bonified I find purchase

    • Great Read This connected collection of stories is good expansion and filler till the next book comes out. Tanis is still my favorite character strong, smart, and a good leader. I have enjoyed the expansion of other major characters. I really liked the story about freeing the IA's and the discussion of true freedom. I look forward to the next book.

    • CoolI liked this series. It is different. Interesting characters. Curious to see where things go. The use of AI is different.
