    • LOVE IT!!!! This book is simple to read and understand, and is chock-full of helpful lessons and advice given by NFL star Charles Tillman. This book would make a great gift for a child in middle school or for any athlete. Charles shares helpful rules through this memoir, taking us through his childhood, experiences with racism, family, death, army life, divorce, and school struggles and sports. I especially loved the recaps of those high school football games. He played football in Texas around [...]

    • This simple little book really packed a punch. It is the story of NFL player Charles Tillman growing up. His family was very close and they had rules to live by. Everyone had them, his grandmother, his mother, his deddy, even his brother. While growing up he dealt with many things such as racism, relocation due to his father's career in the armed forces, death of family members and his parent's divorce. Through all of this, he remembered and followed the rules such as:"Honor your elders and trea [...]

    • I got this book for my 9 year old son because I knew Charles Tillman was a positive role model. He read the book and swears it is his favorite book, so I decided to read it also. It's so nice to see a children's book that not only discusses solid values, but also talks about the challenges that life brings. We all make mistakes but it's what we learn from those mistakes that make us who we are. This book illustrates that perfectly.

My favorite person was Duck because he is super responsible and takes care of his brother. My favorite part is when they don't go with those boys with the fireworks. They were responsible and didn't get into trouble.
