Dallas in Wonderland

2.5 stars. And I am going to be nice and round it up because I didn't hate the story but it was not good.This book tried to be too much in way too little space. This is how this story plays out: the first 50% of this novella is about 90% telling. You get told these guys back story. These guys don't exchange a word as a trio until 55% into the story. That's utterly ridiculous considering you are trying to sell readers a ménage! So then what happens? The guys have a case of sudden verbal diarrhea [...]

This book just had too much going on in too little pages. A jaded porn star, another porn star hiding who he really is from his ultra-religous family back home, a guy down on his luck, who lost his job, and is about to be evicted because his roommate ran off with all the rent money, a mob boss, a loan shark determined to squeeze money out of someone who didn't even BORROW any money, and it's just too much for only 89 pages.I also felt like the one big three way sex scene felt like it was ripped [...]

I have read many author's attempt to write threesome scenes in a novel. Every single place I have read threesome, it was weird. It is as if the author felt too weird about it, but wants to write it anyway. This book was different from ALL those books. That is why I am giving it a 5 star. The other reason is that I liked how the debt problem a character had was solved.

Part of Evan Gilbert Greatest HitsAll the stories in this book are novellas, different and great reads. Just good entertainment that you can finish in an afternoon, then start the next one if you're ready.I thought this would be my least favorite because of the porn star angle but it didn't interfere with the story and there was a lot of other stuff going on (plus a hot menage)!

I suppose it's unfair to take off a star for all the descriptions of sex in this story. Graphic sex is expected in this genre, but it's something I don't have to have. The sex acts don't really add anything to the story for me, so I kind of just skim over them. And I had to do a lot a skimming on this one because two of the three main characters are porn actors.But I like this author's writing, and he usually comes up with interesting characters, and that's what drew me into this story. I really loved all three characters in this short story. From the start, Dallas was my favourite; I loved the steely power behind the twink facade. The author imbues the graphic detail in his porn scenes with a sense of humour and a touch of realism while the connection between his three leads is sweetly emotional. Organised crime and family rejection are pretty hefty subjects for such a short story. In a full length novel, there would have been space to fully work through the problems the men f [...]

More of a 2.5 but rounding up. Lots going in this novella. I did like the MCs, particularly Johnny. His realization and acceptance about who he was after his interaction with his father seemed real. I also liked Dallas and jaded porn star view. And Miguel, poor lost guy. Liked the three of them together but wish it had happened earlier in the book.
