    • LOVE FOUND IN UNCOMMON PLACES WITH TRULY UNCOMMON PEOPLE—SPIRIT ME AWAY BY AARON PAUL LAZAROkay, I confess: the women cried far too much and the Gus LeGarde I know would have called in the police far, far earlier than he does in this novel. And yet. This is a young Gus LeGarde, newly married and deeply in love with his wife. What she and their friend endure is horrific and prolonged. While the perpetual tears irritated me no end, I realize this novel was written about a time when women were not [...]

    • Spirit Me Away by Aaron Paul Lazar took me back to a time I lived through, but don’t remember. I was six years old in the summer of ’69 and though I have since seen numerous depictions on television and in the media, I can’t honestly say any of it rings a particular bell. Lazar manages to take what has always been a mist-shrouded time period for me, and refine it into a peculiar clarity which I can view through the eyes of the eminently likeable Gus LeGarde. He manages to avoid one of the [...]

    • This book was provided to me in exchange for an honest review. I admit, I initially wanted to read this book because it mentioned music and had a peace sign on the cover (and can I add that is a beautiful cover, even if I normally don't like faces on the front of books). Then I learned this was #8 in the series and feared I would be forever lost. However for some reason, the definitely wasn't the case.I really enjoyed reading about Gus, Elsbeth and the gang. I became truly invested in many of th [...]

    • SPIRIT ME AWAY AARON PAUL LAZARAaron Paul Lazar takes us back to the early years with Gus and Elsbeth as they first get married. Welcome to Boston at the height of the hippy movement and free love. Gus is studying at the Music institute. Their lives are turned upside down when they find a young girl in the park with no memory. Being the nice people they are they take Valerie in. With the help of friends Porter, Byron and Lana Gus and Elsbeth are thrown into the world of free love and free flowin [...]

    • Spirit Me Away by Aaron Paul Lazar is another amazing look back into the Gus Legarde Mystery series. In this episode, i was transported back in time to the wild and free loving days of the sixties. The story line and character portrayal was so smooth, that I actually felt like I was there. Lazar has a unique ability to capture even the smallest details, creating a complete journey. I especially enjoyed this glimpse into the love story that is Gus and Elsbeth. It actually helps to understand some [...]

    • This was a good story, well writtenere's some action but not overly exciting. It did make me feel as though I was part of that time though which was neat since I wasn't born yet lol I listened to it on audible and I think the narrator made it a bit more boring and drawn out than it needed to be. Perhaps with somebody more animated it may give more life to it but over all it was a decent book. This book was provided to me by the author in return for an unbiased review.

    • A interesting storyI thought the story was fun to follow. Pretty much knew how it would end.I would recommend it fora a

    • I had read a "later" Gus LeGarde mystery so thought I'd try an earlier one. I thought this book dragged on and on and on. I only finished it because I hate not finishing books, but I really thought it could have been cut in half. Too many far fetched ideas and just not a great read.

    • This is a really good Gus LeGarde mystery. We are taken back to 1969 and the time of love.Gus finds a poor soul who has forgotten who she is.They encounter some harrowing experiences trying to find her family.A fun ride.Robert King Ross was the perfect narrator.I was provided this book free by the author, narrator or publisher.
