    • This time, on volume 2, I got used with the constant referring to communism and the author's belief that this is the solution to the problems the people depicted in the novel are suffering. But still I have something to complain about and I could not award it more than 4 stars: I did not liked the way the novel ended. I think the end is much too abrupt and Steinbeck really could have done better. Maybe something in the Hollywood style when all ends up well in the very last minute by a fortunate [...]
