    • When 6th grader Josh Showalter moves from Seattle to Rathdrum, Idaho, he hopes that his weight problem and lack of athletic talent won't be as big of a problem as it was at his last school. He quickly makes friends with a couple of nice kids, and the school's most popular athlete, Corey, wants Josh to try out for the hockey team. Maybe this school is going to be great. Little does Josh know what sinister plans Corey has in story for him.

    • #168 I read this book when I was in elementary school and found the boy with Asperger's quite interesting. I have since researched Asperger's and autism after babysitting a boy who has Asperger's. I read this book with him whenever I'm babysitting and even though it's such a low level book I still am enjoying reading it with him again.

    • The most important part of this book is character conflict. Two boys from different school got in same school. One is naughty, another one is not. But when he meet him, they would argue. But when they playing together, and they went ice skating with other people. Gradually, they improve their relationship. Even they became best friend. I like the process how they improve their relationship.

    • If you like books dealing with the difficulties and rewards of relationships and characters who have to decide where their loyalty lies - with the popular bunch or with the person who might need some help or sympathy - then this is a good book for you.Patneaude writes well and you can be sure references to local Pacific Northwest culture or places will be mentioned.

    • Colder than ice was a breath taking story at times. I loved it! It was about how a new kid josh is starting out his first day in his new school. He wants to fit in with the popular kids. The mean and popular kid wants to hang out with josh because his dad is a coach. So they invite him to play hockey at poor rooneys pond and you'll half to read the rest to find out!

    • A new boy is befriended by both the "cool" kids that increasingly show themselves to be bullies and another set of classmates that are more caring. Besides the bullying aspect, I was also impressed with the depiction of one of the main characters that has Asperger's.
